Lesson

Website Checklist.

You have completed your website! Your customizations, and integrations are all in place, and your website should tell a story. But how do you know if your truly finished? Read this checklist to ensure that you haven’t forgotten any key steps when building your website!

Ultimately, you want your website to share a story about you and your brand. But before we can truly understand your story, there are customizations, and integrations you must add so everything comes together.

Does your profile meet your objective? Does it convey your brand and vision?

Brand Logo.

Does your brand logo reflect you?

Have a brand logo that fits and appeals to you. Your brand logo is how people will recogize you. Your brand logo will be the defining factor to how people know you and recognize you, especially in the future once you’ve elevated your following!

Brand Kit.

Is your brand kit suitable to you?

Ensure that you have designed a brand kit that is in line with your brand. For example, if your brand logo is red white, and blue, it would make sense for your brand kit to have the colours, red, white and blue. By making your brand kit those colours, your website will have those colour schemes throughout each of the layouts on your website. Having a consistent colour scheme that matches your brand is key and exudes professionalism. It Is also important to have consistent font sizes throughout your website so things look consistent. Consistency is key in all aspects when making a website because it allows everything to leak neat, and it flows smoothly when an audience is reading about you!

Customizations and Integrations.

Are your customizations and integrations laid out neatly?

You should ensure that your customizations and integrations are laid out properly and are legible. The amazing thing about building your own website is that you have the chance to customize it however you please! With ARC profile, you can choose from a variety of different templates and choose where you want each thing to go on the page. You want things to be in line so the reader can smoothly read through what you have to say. You do not want to jam too many things into one section as you can add as many sections as you want to break up the content from all-in-one space. You also want to make sure everything section is filled out and nothing is left incomplete. Having your sections laid out in a neat manner will set you aside from the rest, and have your audience members be in awe of what you have created!

Grammar and Spelling.

Spelling and grammar acceptable and on par? Is formatting consistent and flow together?

It is important to ensure that your grammar and spelling are 100% perfect. By reading through your website multiple times, you will truly be able to ensure that there are no grammatical errors or spelling mistakes. You never want an audience member to pause while reading because they cannot make out what you are saying or how you are trying to say it. Reviewing your websites multiple times to search for these mistakes is vital, and will allow your reader to fully understand what you are all about!

Social Integrations.

Are your social integrations accessible to your audience and laid out neatly?

Ensure that your social integrations are laid out neatly and are accessible to your fanbase. By trying to directly access your Twitter, or Instagram through your website for example will ensure that your audience members can do the same thing as well! The last thing you want is for your audience to try and access your social media account, but it goes to a blank screen or a login page instead. To make sure it is laid out neatly, make sure that visibly your audience can have a glimpse to what you have to offer on your social media, and make sure that wherever you have added your social integrations, that it looks neat and flows smoothly with the rest of the content and customizations on your website.

Imagery and Templates.

Are the templates you have added suitable to you and the best choice available?

Choose proper imagery as well as templates that best reflect you! If you are a hockey player, then the imagery should be about hockey. Of course you may add other imagery, however, it is key that those images are not misleading to your brand and that it fits who you are and what you are trying to say. Also, it’s important to pick the proper templates to match the theme of your website. With many templates available, the world is your oyster at ARC.

Provide Proper Information.

Have you included all relevant information?

Ensure you have added and gathered all the proper information that you want scouts, fans, and coaches to know about you. Forgetting key information on your website can mislead your audience to who you really are.

Website Should Tell a Story.

Does your brand tell a story about you?

Ensure that your website tells a story. The first indication that it tells a story is by adding a summary at the top half of your website. Not only will the top half of your website have your brand logo, and your name, but a summary of who you are and what your goals may be is key to fitting that story of you.
